Menjadi Yogi #4

Disclaimer: saya belum bukan lah seorang yogi (atau yogini). Bukan pula ahli dalam dunia per-yoga-an (lihat kalimat pertama). Tulisan di seri ‘Menjadi Yoga’ ini merupakan pengalaman saya sendiri untuk catatan sendiri.

JADWAL BERANTAKAN

Setelah sempat 2 bulan teratur latihan yoga, akhir Oktober kemarin menjadi penanda melorotnya performa yoga saya *halah*
Gara-gara travel, latihan rutin bersama Mbak Guru Yoga harus mundur. Masih untung kalau seminggu dapat sekali, saya sempat skip beberapa minggu tidak ke sanggar yoga. (eh kids zaman now masih pakai kata sanggar kah?). Kadang saya masih rajin bisa latihan di hotel atau di rumah dengan cara melihat tutorial di youtube. Kekurangannya latihan dari nonton youtube adalah satu, kalau posenya salah enggak ada yang neriakin, apalagi, ngebetulin; dua, kalau posenya susah, langsung nyerah di napas pertama dan gak ada yang neriakin huehehehe…. Apalagi tennis elbow saya masih belum pulih. Alasan untuk enggak serius latihan saat travel makin menjadi-jadi. Nyerah dong mimpi jadi Yogi-nya?

Tentu tidak!

Akibat sering bolos latihan di sanggar dan di rumah (atau hotel), badan saya yang aslinya enggak belum fleksibel walaupun sudah latihan 2 bulan jadi semakin susah dilipat-lipat. Sudah begitu, saya sering lupa tahapan pose untuk latihan di rumah. Tahapan pose ini penting supaya saat kita berlatih urutannya benar, dari pose mudah untuk pemanasan sampai panas keringat bercucuran gitu deh. Jangan sampai terbalik: pose susah duluan (seperti yang saya lakukan saking lupanya) baru pose mudah. Yang ada tiap mau menekuk badan, tulang kaki kayak mau patah, perut sukses mengganjal, dan 6 dari 5 kali percobaan badan saya doyong ke depan.

Mbak Adriana ini menggambarkan penderitaan saya dengan baik sekali. Serasa dapat teman seperyogaan.

Untungnya saya kemudian menemukan instagramnya Mbak Sophie. Mantengin ignya beliau pas latihan yoga, saya merasa berada di ombak nervous campur mupeng. Kalau dia bisa, maka saya pun bisa! Halah. Bisanya dia dan bisanya saya rasanya berjarak ratusan purnama dan Cinta udah gonta ganti pacar seribu kali. Tapi saya ingat pepatah lama. Gantunglah cita-cita setinggi langit dan akhirnya Mbak Sophia Latjuba ini pun jadi yoga goal saya sekarang 😀 😀 😀 . Kalau nekat memang harus sekalian, yekan?

Akhirnya yang pertama saya lakukan setelah malas sekian minggu dan setelah bikin yoga goal tadi 😛 , saya browsing browsing browsing dan akhirnya dapat tahapan pose beserta gambarnya di sini. Jadi, pertama lakukan pose pemanasan selama 10-5 menit kemudian lanjut dengan pose sun salutation. Dah. Rutin lakukan itu dan tadaaaa….tulang-tulang jadi lebih fleksibel. Jago sih belum, fleksibel dan sehat dulu aja yah.

Untuk lebih maksimal, saya ikut kelas back therapy. Masalah saya terbesar memang postur yang bikin saya kena backpain. Masalah saya kedua terbesar adalah perut buncit. Eh. Di kelas yang semi private ini, Mbak Guru Yoga punya lebih banyak waktu untuk fokus dan sadis membetulkan pose saya. Gerakan favorit dia adalah menggantung saya di tali. Iya. Digantung. Di tali. Buset kan?! Tapi dengan ikut kelas ini saya jadi lebih paham dengan badan dan lebih paham dengan proses bernapas. Tentunya, back pain saya menghilang lah.

Sekarang ini, setiap kali saya sedang berdiri, spontan saya selalu membetulkan postur. Dulunya sih, boro-boro inget, paham aja enggak postur yang benar seperti apa. Bahkan saat duduk bersandar, badan saya spontan membuka bahu sehingga napas menjadi luas.

Yoga di tahap ini akhirnya buat saya sebagai cara kenalan ulang dengan badan: di mana posisi kaki, bagaimana bentuk punggung, bagaimana menekuk badan, bagaimana mengambil napas supaya tidak ngos-ngosan, sampai ke bagaimana mencari solusi masalah adanya perut di antara usaha membuat pose sempurna.

I love this feeling being aware of what my body is doing.
