Tahun itu tahun keempat saya dan Papap berpacaran. Di jari saya, ada empat buah cincin perak melingkar. Saya dan sobat saya sedang berada di perkebunan teh mengikuti acara outing klub kami. Si sobat menunjuk cincin-cincin di jari saya.
“What’s the story?”
“These?” Saya tersenyum lebar dengan bangga.
“I can tell you are an army-kinda girl. But those?! Rock star wannabe?”
“Sialan!” Saya tendang kakinya. Ini dari cowok gue! Satu cincin untuk satu tahun!”
Si sobat mesem-mesem. “Serius lo?”
Untungnya jaman itu belum ada bahasa alay yang membuat saya menjawab, “ciyuuus.”
“Gue enggak kebayang kalau elo pacaran sampai lebih dari tujuh tahun. Mau ditaro di mana cincin-cincin lo?”
Enam tahun kemudian, di tahun kesepuluh pacaran kami si sobat tertawa ngakak di hari pernikahan saya.
“Untuuung elo kawin tahun ini. Bisa jadi roker kalo elo berdua belum kawin juga!”
Setiap tanggal 14 Oktober, saya dan si sobat selalu melontarkan candaan garing soal cincin perak. Sejak menikah, tradisi memberikan cincin perak setiap anniversary otomatis berhenti. Entah kenapa. Mungkin karena Papap sadar hadiah pernikahan seharusnya sudah naik level dari perak ke emas. Atau berlian. Dan akhirnya Papap memutuskan tradisi seperti itu sudah tidak sesuai. Dengan kantong. Saya juga sudah ‘move on’ dari tradisi cincin anniversary karena mungkin secara tidak sadar saya tidak ingin julukan roker berganti jadi tante girang dengan cincin emasnya. Tapi sekarang-sekarang ini saya menyadari bahwa cincin itu ternyata menandakan satu hal: pengingat. Iya, pengingat bagi Papap bahwa tanggal 14 Oktober itu hari pernikahan kami!
Dengan tidak adanya tradisi pemberian cincin perak, hilang juga alat pengingat Papap. Si Papap yang pelupa itu seringkali baru sadar ‘arti’ tanggal tersebut bukan karena saya manyun seharian tapi karena kartu ucapan selamat di lemari yang baru dia temukan di penghujung hari. Cengengesan lebar pun menghiasi wajahnya.
Bagaimana dengan tahun ini?
Tahun ini si Papap ada di negara gingseng. Dan dilihat dari hape saya yang tidak memberi sinyal sms atau bbm, dia pastiiii lupa. Lagi.
Oh well. Mungkin sudah waktunya tradisi cincin pengingat dihidupkan kembali. Perak pun tak masalah. Asal tergantung di kunci mobil merk zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………
